We are thrilled to open registration for the 2nd Annual Special Education Summit, hosted by Tabernacle Baptist Church and Christian School and the Hope Allen Center for Exceptional Children in Hickory, North Carolina. Hear from speakers about parenting, teaching, and encouraging children living with disabilities. This event is for parents, teachers, administrators, and church leadership. Fellowship with others and make long-lasting connections to help you in your journey!
Sessions will cover, but are not limited to:
-Fostering an exceptional vision
-Church and school culture and special education
-Navigating financial logistics of ministry to families living with disability
-Church disability ministry
-Heavy work, regulation, and visual schedules
-Data tracking
-ABC (Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence)
-Planning intervention support and instruction
-Ministering to siblings of children living with disabilities
-Curriculum review of resources and materials
-Shepherding and disciplining the hearts of children living with disability
-Resources and support for adolescents and young adults
-Advocating for your children
-Addressing speech and communication needs of children living with disability
-Preparing students for transition to adulthood and life after high school
-Empowering problem solving and emotional regulation tools in the classroom
-Practical tools for working with students with Dyslexia
-Training teachers to serve students living with disability
-Differentiation in the general education classroom
-Incorporating the arts into special education instruction
-Autism at home
-Parent groups and fellowships
