WHO WE ARE
Since 1970, our private Christian school has provided a nurturing learning environment for our students. Tabernacle Christian School was founded in the fall of 1970 and continues as one of the longest-operating private schools in Hickory, North Carolina. We are a ministry of Tabernacle Baptist Church and a member of the North Carolina Christian Schools Association and the American Association of Christian Schools.
WHAT WE DO
We serve families with students in PK3 – 12th grade from Catawba County and the surrounding areas. Since our establishment, we have existed to encourage and assist families that are committed to fulfilling the biblical mandate to provide a Christian education for their children.

10 FOUNDATIONAL TRUTHS
We have identified 10 Foundational Truths that are the basis for our Code of Conduct. In partnership with our families, teachers and administrators will emphasize the development of these truths in our students:
COURAGE
Realizing that God has given us the strength to face any trial or danger.
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them; for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” - Deuteronomy 31:6
HOLINESS
Changing our lives to reflect God’s character.
“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” - I Peter 1:15-16
INTEGRITY
Being honest and fair; demonstrating faith in everyday practice.
“The integrity of the upright shall guide them…” - Proverbs 11:3
KINDNESS
Showing a Christ-like attitude toward others.
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” - Ephesians 4:32
LOVE
A primary characteristic of God; sacrificial and unconditional care in action; putting others before self.
"By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another." - John 13:35
RESPECT
Honoring the authority God has placed in one’s life.
“And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.” - I Thessalonians 5:12-13
SERVICE
Being a devoted and helpful follower and encourager.
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” - Philippians 2:5-8
STEWARDSHIP
Utilizing and managing God-given resources for His glory and the betterment of His creation
“Let a man so account of us, as the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” - I Corinthians 4:1-2
THANKFULNESS
Expressing to God and to others gratitude for the ways they have shown one favor or kindness
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” - I Thessalonians 5:18
UNITY
A result of God’s work in Christ; a unity in Christ of all believers; working and living together in peace.
“Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” - Philippians 2:2
