Your kids probably love attending elementary school, and you are happy that they are happy at school. But when morning arrives and it’s time to get everyone out the door on time, doing this can prove to be a gargantuan challenge you dread facing on a daily basis.
If you feel like your school mornings are unbelievably hectic and you would like to add more peace and routine to them, try some of these tips for getting your kids out the door to elementary school with less stress:
- Start planning for the morning the night before. Try packing lunches, laying out clothes, and taking care of other details the night before so that you’re doing less scrambling the morning of.
- It can be hard to start the morning on the right foot if you wake up late or wake up to the sounds of your kids squabbling. Get your mornings going right by waking up a little bit before your kids and taking a few minutes to yourself.
- Establish a routine for elementary school mornings so that your kids know what to expect. Try eating breakfast, getting dressed, brushing teeth, and packing backpacks in a certain order every day.
- Losing a shoe or not being able to find an instrument is a normal part of school mornings. But you can reduce the chances of things getting lost by designating a spot in your house for backpacks, paperwork, lunch boxes, shoes, and other things needed to get out the door on time.
