Physical Growth

According to 1 Corinthians, our bodies are not our own but belong to God.  Our students are taught the importance of taking care of the temples, or bodies, that God has given us. Nutrition, exercise, modesty, and holiness are only a few of the topics that we emphasize to our young people.  Other tools and activities that our school provides to develop physical growth are:

Physical Education

All TCS students enjoy the benefits of a regulation size gymnasium and soccer field, an enclosed playground, and an irrigated field.  Students in Kindergarten through ninth grade participate in Physical Education classes.  Elementary students also take part in daily recess breaks.

Field Day

Classes spend a day of fun competition at the end of the school year. Exciting races, relays, obstacle courses, and water games help create a special day for the elementary students.

Presidential Fitness Testing

The junior high and senior high P.E. classes are tested periodically throughout the year. Reports regarding students’ physical strengths and weaknesses are available after every test. Students’ performance levels are compared to other students nationwide.

Junior & Senior High Sports

Students in 6th-12th grades are able to play on Tabernacle’s official athletic teams.  Our junior varsity and varsity teams compete in the Foothills Conference of the North Carolina Christian School Association.  Soccer and volleyball are both offered in the fall; whereas, girl's basketball/boy's basketball is played during the winter months.  We emphasize a Christ-like attitude and good sportsmanship, along with the development of a maximum competitive skill level.
